Max with Mercedes-AMG DTM Team at Young Driver Test in Jerez

The Mercedes-AMG DTM Team are giving Maximilian Günther his first chance to try a DTM racing car. Max will test the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM as part of the official Young Driver Test in Jerez de la Frontera from 29th November to 2nd December 2016.

With this test in Spain, Max is being rewarded for his extraordinary performance in the FIA Formula 3 European championship. The 19-year-old won the title of European championship runner-up in the world’s most competitive formula racing series for juniors this year.

Max took four wins, seven pole positions and 13 podium places from 30 races this season with Prema Powerteam, who run Mercedes-AMG Formula 3 engines.

Mercedes-AMG have a long tradition of bringing on young talent in motor racing. When they were in Formula 3, three-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton (MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS), four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel and the youngest champion ever in DTM history, Formula 1 rookie Pascal Wehrlein, used to contest the series with engines provided by Mercedes-AMG.
