First outing in grand finale at Hockenheim

Maximilian Günther makes his debut as a Prema Powerteam driver on the final weekend of the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The 18-year-old replaces Nick Cassidy for the last three races of the year at the Hockenheimring (16th – 18th October). The Italian outfit with its illustrious tradition will be arriving for the weekend having already wrapped up both the drivers’ and team titles.

Maximilian Günther has been a member of the kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport squad throughout 2015, but the precocious German talent has now been given an opportunity to round off his debut season in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with Prema Powerteam.

Maximilian Günther: “I am very grateful for the opportunity to climb into a Prema cockpit for the first time. Prema Powerteam have long been one of the most successful teams in motor racing. I would like to thank them for the confidence they are showing in me. I’m excited about getting to know the guys better and also learning about the procedures in this team. Together with Mücke Motorsport, I can look back on a successful three years. I wish Peter Mücke and his team all the best and look forward to the next step in my career.”

Prema Powerteam use the successful Mercedes-Benz F3 414 engine in their FIA Formula 3 European Championship cars. Jacques Villeneuve, Robert Kubica, Kamui Kobayashi, Merhi, Juncadella, Marciello und Ocon are just a few of their former drivers who later graduated to Formula One or DTM.
