Max and BWT agree to work together

Maximilian Günther has now also become one of the Pink Panther drivers. The ADAC Junior Motorsports Person of the Year 2016 has managed to acquire the services of the BWT Group as partner. BWT already have a broad exposure to motor racing with their involvement in a range of series from Formula 4 and the DTM right through to Formula 1. The 20-year-old will sport the Austrian company’s famous pink helmet and car design for the very next race weekend of the FIA Formula 3 European championship at Zandvoort in the Netherlands (19th – 20th August).

Maximilian Günther has a strong partner in BWT. Ever since the 2015 season, BWT have been active as sponsors in the DTM where Günther is an official test and reserve driver for the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport DTM team. The BWT name also became known to fans of the elite class of motor sport this season where two pink cars are more than doing their bit to enrich Formula 1.

Starting with the seventh weekend of the FIA Formula 3 European championship, Günther will now defend his championship lead in the bright pink colours of BWT. With four race wins this season and a total of eleven podium finishes from 18 races, the Prema Powerteam driver heads the overall rankings in the world’s strongest series for juniors.

Maximilian: “I’m very proud that a company as prestigious as BWT is now my partner and am certain that I’ll be the centre of attention in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with my Pink Panther’s eye-catching paint finish – preferably at the head of the field, of course. It’s just fantastic to know that in the next race, my Formula 3 car will have a design similar to that used on the Formula 1 cars.”

Lutz Hübner, CEO at BWT: “The sponsorship of young top athletes in motor racing begins with Formula 4 for us, and it was only logical for us to then go on to support a very talented Formula 3 driver as well and to start working with Maxi Günther. His achievements are really impressive, and we hope that we can do our bit to ensure that the season ends successfully for him, and that ultimately, we can secure the European Formula 3 championship title together!”
