Back in the race seat: Maximilian Günther to compete at the ABB FIA Formula E in Rome

Maximilian Günther returns to the racing cockpit at the seventh round of the ABB FIA Formula E championship 2018/19. The German will race again with GEOX DRAGON at the Rome ePrix on 13th April and will be at the wheel of the Penske EV-3 number 6.

The 21-year-old had already competed at the beginning of the season in Riyadh, Marrakesh and Santiago de Chile and clinched his best qualifying result so far in the ABB FIA Formula E in Chile starting from seventh position. At his only third start in the all-electric series, he showed his best race performance so far and narrowly missed his first championship points due to a technical problem running in eighth place in the race.

After a three-race break Maximilian will make his comeback at the European opener of the ABB FIA Formula E in three weeks with the aim of continuing the impressive performance of his previous outings.

Maximilian Günther: “I am very happy to be back at the wheel of the Penske EV-3 #6 in Rome! In the past weeks I have supported the GEOX DRAGON team as a development driver in the simulator and as a reserve driver at the races on site. I can’t wait to race again in the ABB FIA Formula E championship and I will give it my all to score my first points in the series!”
