Maximilian Günther completes Formula E pre-season testing as countdown to 2024/25 season-opener in Brazil continues
German racing driver, Maximilian Günther, completed a successful pre-season test at the Circuito del Jarama in Spain as his preparations for Season 11 of the FIA Formula E World Championship continue.
After recent devastating floods in Valencia, Jarama was identified as a replacement for the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, with the test marking Formula E’s first at the Madrid-based venue.
The test saw Max make his first public on-track appearance for DS PENSKE after joining the team for Season 11 and beyond, and the 27-year-old completed consistent and competitive running in his DS E-TENSE FE25 car, built on Formula E’s revolutionary GEN3 Evo package.
Max opened the test by racking up steady mileage and defined a clear performance baseline at Jarama while testing processes and procedures before refining his pace as the week progressed.
On Wednesday, Max, from Oberstdorf set the fastest time of the day after targeting high-speed runs in the morning and then moving into long-distance running in the afternoon.
He continued to add mileage on Thursday, and ended the final morning in 12th, with a 1:28.070 run, posted in Test Session 4, marking his fastest lap of a productive week, which saw him complete 213 laps [834 kilometres] of running.
Season 11 of the FIA Formula E World Championship will commence on 7 December 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil, and marks the start of an action-packed campaign featuring races in global locations including Tokyo, Miami, Monaco, Shanghai, and Berlin.
